The journey, unfolded

Days 1–2
Thekkady · Periyar Reserve
Arrive at Thekkady — the edge of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Morning boat safaris on the lake where elephants come to drink at dawn. Spice estate walks in the afternoon. Your naturalist identifies species by call before you see them.
Days 3–5
Munnar · Tea Country
Drive to Munnar through the tea estates. 1,600 metres, cloud forest, the smell of tea in processing season. Tea factory visit at harvest time. Dawn walk through the highest estates. Optional Eravikulam National Park for Nilgiri tahr.
Day 6
Valparai · Coffee Estates
Descend to Valparai — less visited, more intimate. Coffee estates and endemic bird species. Lion-tailed macaque sightings are common here.
Day 7
Departure · Cochin
Transfer to Cochin for departure. Optional morning in Fort Kochi before your flight.
