The Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam covers 156 acres — the largest functioning Hindu temple in the world by area. It occupies the entire island between the Cauvery and Coleroon rivers, with seven concentric walls and 21 gopurams. The outermost wall is 4 kilometres in circumference.
Srirangam is one of the 108 Vishnu Divya Desams — the sacred Vaishnava pilgrimage sites — and is considered the foremost of them. The innermost sanctum holds the reclining Ranganatha, and has been the object of continuous worship for over a thousand years.
Based in Madurai since 2013. Every journey to Srirangam is designed personally around your interests and pace.
