Kabini is where the Kabini river runs through the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve before joining the Cauvery. In the dry season, as water sources shrink across the forest, animals converge on the river — which means converging in front of you. The elephant aggregations at Kabini in March and April are among the most spectacular wildlife encounters in India.
Leopard sightings at Kabini are more reliable than at most Indian reserves. Tigers exist and are occasionally seen. Dhole (Indian wild dog) hunt in packs along the river banks. The birding is exceptional — over 300 species recorded.
Based in Madurai since 2013. Every journey to Kabini is designed personally around your interests and pace.
