The Western Ghats — one of eight global biodiversity hotspots. South India's wildlife requires a different kind of attention.
South India's wildlife is not the open savannah spectacle of East Africa — it is dense, layered, complex, and requires patience and a naturalist who can read the forest. The Western Ghats form one of the eight biodiversity hotspots on earth, and the four major reserves on our itinerary — Periyar, Mudumalai, Anamalai and Kabini — together protect a corridor of extraordinary richness.
Elephant sightings are near-certain at three of the four reserves. Leopard sightings at Kabini are among the most reliable in India. Gaur, sambar, dhole, sloth bear, King Cobra, hundreds of bird species — a naturalist who knows the forest can show you more in two days than most visitors see in a week.
Every experience we arrange is genuine — not a tourist version. Tell us your interests and we will build it into your South India journey.
