Journey Overview
Wayanad — "land of paddy fields" — sits at 700-2,100 metres in the northern Western Ghats of Kerala, sharing borders with Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It is one of India's most biodiverse regions: home to tigers, elephants, leopards and endemic bird species in forests that are among the oldest in Asia. The prehistoric Edakkal Caves contain petroglyphs dating back 6,000 years.
